Open fires,
open doors.
For twenty-two years, Nyondo has been the neighbourhood kitchen of Nantabulirwa — a place where the same hands that stir the pots also greet you at the door.

We opened our doors in 2002 with a small kitchen, a wood fire and a simple idea: cook the food we grew up with, cook it honestly, and cook enough that no one leaves hungry.
What started as meals for neighbours in Nantabulirwa slowly became lunch for the workers walking home from Mukono town, then breakfast for the drivers passing through, then wedding banquets down the road, then contracts feeding factory teams across the Namanve industrial area.
The room has grown. The menu has grown. The staff has grown. But the fire is the same fire, and the recipe for luwombo is still the one from the founder's mother.
Produce sourced weekly from Mukono and Kampala markets.
Fair prices, generous portions, no shortcuts in the pot.
Rooted in local flavour — matoke, luwombo, muchomo, rolex.
